You can make an initial report of harassment to any of the conference committee or volunteers, who can be identified via the conference t-shirts and lanyards. They will, at your choice, put you in contact with the Diversity Chairs (Tania Allard and Mozhgan Kabiri Chimeh) or Conference Chair (Christopher Woods) who will help you make a full report. Alternatively, you can get in contact with the Diversity or Conference Chairs directly via email using the contact details here.

Should a harassment incident take place, please report it immediately, preferably in writing.

All reports will be confidential.

When reporting the incident, try to provide as much information as possible.
A committee member can assist you in writing the report or collecting information. Please do not interview people about the incident, but leave this to a committee member.

The important information consists of:

  • information about the attendee violating the code of conduct
  • the behaviour that was in violation of the code of conduct
  • approximate time and location of the incident
  • the circumstances surrounding the incident
  • other people involved in the incident

All the committee members will be well-briefed on how to deal with the incident reports,
and on how to further proceed with the situation. (The guidelines can be found here)

Committee members will be happy to help participants contact venue security
or the police, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe
for the duration of the conference.
