HPC RSE Special Interest Group

The HPC RSE SIG has the purpose to bring the HPC RSE community together. We aim to create a place to meet other RSEs with similar interests, to share knowledge and keep each other informed on developments in the technical, training and community space in the field of high performance computing. For early career members of the community this is a place to find like minded people, build networks, learn more about opportunities and communities in the field and benefit from informal mentoring opportunities.

While the HPC RSE SIG is based in and focused on the UK HPC community, we welcome anyone around the world who is interested in the topic, and invite international HPC RSEs to come along to our events.

HPC RSE SIG In-person Meetup at Durham HPC Days: 1630-1800 BST, Thu, 5 June 2025

The Durham HPC Days take place June 2-7 in Durham, UK.

This is an in-person meet-up of the HPC Research Software Engineers Special Interest Group (HPC RSE SIG), but everyone is welcome – you do not need to be involved with the SIG, the RSE Society, or even be an RSE!

We will start with an un-conference style discussion session (i.e., discussion topics and groups decided on by the participants), which will lead into further discussions and chats over beer and food in the evening.
